John Gayda

GAYDA, John, 85 of DeSoto, TX went to be with his Lord on Sep. 15, 2010. He was born Nov. 7, 1924 in Pittsburg, PA., raised in Nesquehoning, PA. John retired from the U. S. Navy serving during WWII and Korea, where he received the American Campaign and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbons, he then retired from Bell Helicopter. John was preceded in death by his father: Andrew, mother: Mary, brother: Nick, and son: John T. Gayda. His survived by his loving wife: Audrey, of DeSoto daughters: Edith Brickson and husband, Randy of Montrose, CO, Sharon Griffin and husband, Ace of Pawhuska, OK , Debra Perrin and husband, Rick, of Hominy, OK Rosalie Jones, and husband, Brady, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister: Mary Z. Pituch and husband, Victor of Nesquehoning, PA, brother: Michael Gayda, also of PA, and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides the love for his family, John also loved his church family and his Lord and Savior. Visitation will be at WEST/HURTT Funeral Home, 217 S. Hampton Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday (9/17) Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P. M. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Windsor Park Baptist Church, 750 W. Pleasant Run Rd. @ Westmoreland Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115 with Dr. Chris Seidlitz officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be conducted at 10 A. M. Monday, Sep. 20, 2010 at Dallas / Ft. Worth National Cemetery. The funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 9:15 A. M. Monday. Memorial donations are encouraged to the Building Fund at Windsor Park Baptist Church.
