John Robert "Poppy" Kilzer

73, of Dallas, TX, a Retired Deputy Sheriff, passed away on October 10, 2011. He was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy Lee Groeneman. Mr. Kilzer is survived by his wife: Carolyn A. Kilzer; daughter: Karen Kilzer; son & daughter in law: Jeffrey & Debra Kilzer; grandsons: Justin & Joshua Kilzer; brother: Terry Tonsing; sisters: Marlene Lutzenberger and Joyce Whitby; cousin: Dick Kilzer. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 5 - 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Windsor Park Baptist Church, 750 W. Pleasant Run Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115 972-230-3000. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Spanish Fort Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Montague Co., TX. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials or donations be made to the Windsor Park Baptist Church for the purchase of Bibles.
