79, of Ovilla, TX passed away on August 23, 2010. Captain Thompson was retired U S Navy after serving 37 years. He is survived by his beloved wife: Beverly Jean Thompson; brother & sister in law: Jim & Charlotte Thompson; nephews: Collin Thompson & James Thompson; brother in law & sister in law: William E. & Sharon Garber and niece: Jennifer Garber. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 A.M. until service time which will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the Ovilla United Methodist Church, 1403 Red Oak Creek Rd., Ovilla, TX 75154 on Thursday, August 26, 2010, with Rev. Joel Robbins, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dallas/Ft.Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations be made to the Ovilla United Methodist Church.
