Johnnie Mae Snipes

Johnnie Mae Snipes, 98, a DeSoto resident for many years and long time member of Wheatland United Methodist Church, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 follow  an extended illness.  She was born in Clyde, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years: John Newton Snipes on November 18, 2011.  She is survived by her son and daughter in law:  Scott and Sharon Snipes of Grand Prairie, son and daughter in law: Paul and Marissa  Snipes of Waxahachie, grandchildren: Ashleigh, J P, Tyler and Shane, great grandchildren: Kaiden, Marleigh, Kelsey, Blane, Konner, Daniel and Willow.

Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at West/Hurtt Funeral Home in DeSoto.  A graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. (Please assemble in Lane 1 by 10:15 a.m.)

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Matthew Road Baptist Church 4601 Matthew Rd., Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.  Pastor Daniel Sweet will officiate.
