95, passed away September 27, 2022. Born Hellen Joyce Pernitza on 04/13/1927 in Temple, Texas to Frank "Leo" and Edna Pernitza. When Joyce was young, she lived in Taylor, Texas and Natchez, Mississippi before moving to Dallas, Texas to work for an aunt that owned a Cafe. It was at that cafe that she met her future husband, Terry Kay Pittmon. They married on 12/03/1945. Soon after they started a family. After living in Dallas, Irving and outside of Lancaster they settled in DeSoto in 1968. Joyce loved to travel. She and Terry logged over 300,000 miles traveling in their Motorhomes over the years. She served as a chapter secretary and national director for FMCA (Family Motorcoach Association). No matter where they traveled, they always made it to Red River, New Mexico. They purchased a vacation home there in 1976. Joyce always loved sitting on the porch swing and watching the birds (Hummingbirds being her favorite) and small animals. Joyce made sure that each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren knew how much she loved them. Joyce loved to work jigsaw puzzles and word searches. Grannie taught many of the grandkids how to sew, embroidery, bake and play games. She would never let anyone quit a game, you had to play until the end win or lose.
