Preceded in death by: Wife: Susie Rivers of Seven Points, Tx.; Father: Thomas Rivers and Mother: Julie Parrie Rivers of Zwolle, La.; Step-son: Jerry Don Hemphill of Justin, Tx.; Step-Daughter: Leona Edmonds Of Weatherford, Tx.; Son-in-laws: Chester Smith of Springtown, Tx., and Harold Malone of Seven Points, Tx.; Son: Eddy Rivers of Zwolle, La.; Brother: Tobe Rivers of Arkansas; Sister: Margaret Sepulveda of Zwolle, La. Survived by: Son: Dean Rivers and wife Kleshette Rivers of West Tawakoni, Tx.;  Daughters: Neva Contreras and husband Jerry Contreras of Duncanville,Tx., and Edria Manning of Zwolle, La. Step-Daughters: Juanita Smith of Springtown, Tx., and Nancy Malone of Seven Points, Tx.; Step-Son: Steven Hemphill of Euless, Tx.; Brother: Franklin Rivers and wife Shirley Rivers of Shreveport, La.; along with a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Friends. The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday - June 18, 2019 with a Graveside Service and Interment to follow at 2:30 P.M. in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 1500 S. Westmoreland Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115 (all on the same day) with Rev. Larry Williams, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations be made to Cancer Research.
