was born in Canton, Texas on May 17, 1919 to William Swinney and Neva Bateman. She married Herman Terry, December 15, 1941 in Arizona while traveling to Herman's WW II assignment.
She is survived by sons: Herman W. Terry and wife Beverly,
Bobby Terry and wife, Sherry, Glenn Terry, sister,Hazel Campbell, nieces, Susie Pierce and husband Gene, Pam Trees and Husband Curtis, nephews, Ed Campbell and wife Sally, Gary Beadel and wife Denise, numerous Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, great nephews and great nieces. She was preceded in death by husband, Herman Terry, daughter, Peggy Stevenson, sister,
Millie Beadel, brother, Odell Swinnney. Bobbie worked at The Model shop in Odessa, Texas for many years. She enjoyed bowling at Sherwood Lanes in Odessa. She was on several bowling teams and won many pins. She was always the winner of the family bowling contests. She loved to play Skipbo and played daily with Peggy.
She and her husband played 42.
She looked forward to weekly bingo games with her friends at Red Oak Healt and Rehab Center in Red Oak, TX. She was a member of St. Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She attended the church for more than 50 years. She attended every Sunday until she could no longer physically go to church. Three of her four children were married at the church. She served Odessa Seniors through the Meals on Wheels program. She was a prolific crocheter. She made a multitude of afghans for all family events and holidays. She loved all babies, including her four legged ones - Angel, Prissy and Vegas.
Her days in Red Oak, TX were filled with birthday parties, baby showers, weddings and visits from her extended DeSoto, Red Oak, and Waxahachie family members. She was very proud of the honor of being crowned Queen of Red Oak Nursing & Rehab in 2006. She, her "Little Sister" Hazel and Susie, Niece and BFFs, enjoyed their daily visits, which included time laughing and remembering the fun times they had together.
Bobbie's family thanks this family network for the support and love they gave to her. Bobbie's family extends its gratitude to the Baylor Hospital at Waxahachie, Texas for their
compassionate care. With sad hearts we now rejoice in her reunion with her Skipbo card partner and ""42" playing husband. Though she is missed, we know she is happy with her loved ones in heaven.
There will be a Funeral Service held in the WEST/HURTT Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 21, 2011 @ 2:00 P.M. Additional Services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Odessa, TX Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
