Lucile J. Shockley

Lucile David Johnson Shockley was born August 26, 1914 in Bogata, TX. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at her home on April 30, 2012 in DeSoto, TX. A beloved member of First United Methodist Church in DeSoto, she lived in service of Jesus Christ and brightened every life she touched. She was a wonderful aunt, great aunt and friend. She also retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas. She was the daughter of Stephen and Hattie Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Shockley and nephew Michael Daugherty, who came to live with her and Paul at age 15. He was a blessing to them both. She is survived by niece Marty Walker and husband Michael, great nephew Chris Daugherty and wife Susie, great nephew Craig Daugherty, great niece Jamie MacCloskey and husband Matthew and great great niece Serena MacCloskey. A public viewing will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 310 Roaring Springs, DeSoto, TX 75115 on Friday-May 04, 2012 from 4 – 6:00 P.M. The funeral will also be held there on Saturday-May 05, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Kevin Strempke, officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Union Grove Cemetery, Reno, TX (Lamar County near Paris).
