M. Lee Short, Jr.

67, of DeSoto,went to be with the Lord March 8, 2009 in Dallas. Born September 22, 1941 in Jacksonville, FL, he retired from the U. S. Navy, was an active member of Windsor Park Baptist Church and was a Father and Friend to all. He is survived by his wife, Fay Short, daughter, Janet Hanna of Royce City, sons, Ronald Short of Glenn Heights, and Daniel Short of Slidell, LA, grandchildren, Rebecca Short, Danny Hanna, III, Kevin Short, Daron Short, 3 great grandchildren, and "mutiple children and grandchildren of the heart", sister, Betty Townsend of Antioch, TN and special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, at the Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 A. M. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Windsor Park Baptist Church, 750 W. Pleasant Run Rd., DeSoto 75115 with Dr. Chris Seidlitz and Dr. George Malis officiating. Interment will follow at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International or the Texas Baptist Home for Children-Waxahachie.
