Passed away November 4, 2016 at home in Waxahachie, TX.

Daughter, Laura Jo and husband, Ken Halverson of Waxahachie,
Son, John Wesley and wife, Suzi Deege, grandchildren, Wesley Jacob and Claire Marie Deege, all of Mansfield, TX.

Angelina Wittstruck, Lancaster, PA;
Brother, Joseph Depace and wife, Lenore DePace of Elmhurst, NY
Sister-in-law, Louise DePace of Scarsdale, NY
along with several nieces and nephews.
With a passion for art, sewing and design, she studied at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology where she designed and created ladies and children’s clothing.
After meeting Phillip and marrying in July, 1955, they headed to Illinios to live on the farm. Eventually they settled in DeSoto, TX with children, Laura Jo and John. Mom worked advertising for the local newspaper, followed by 20 + years as an accountant in a CPA office. She then struck out on her own and did bookkeeping for several clients.
She was a Lifetime member of PTA, Girl Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, and Mother Advisor for Rainbow Assembly # 352.
She was an active member of the DeSoto Chapter # 1089 Order of the Easter Star now affiliated with Lancaster Chapter OES # 943
Also a Member of the DeSoto Art League.
Margaret was a woman of incredible grace, courage, strength, and grit throughout her life. She never gave in to the cancer and tolerated everything her oncologist suggested. He said she defied all odds and continually amazed him at her strong will to fight this disease.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 10 at West / Hurtt Funeral Home in DeSoto.
Mass Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1537 Rogers Ave, Lancaster, TX.

Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in DeSoto.
