Margaret Grogan Tidwell

Margaret  Grogan Tidwell, 64, originally from Cedar Hill, TX, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

Margaret was the daughter of Barney Grogan and Edna Young Grogan.  She grew up in Cedar Hill and attended Cedar Hill High School.  She was married to the love of her life, Roger Tidwell of DeSoto, for 34 years.  They lived in Cedar Hill until 2002 when they moved to Tyler.

Margaret was a gentle spirit, pure in heart. She loved and accepted others without judgment and went out of her way to make people feel special, even those she barely knew. Loving and caring for others was her passion.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West-Hurtt Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 11:15 A.M. until 12:15 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held from 12:15 P.M. until 1:15 P.M. (same day) with Rev. Danny Pickens officiating.

A graveside service will follow at 2:15 P.M. on that Tuesday at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX (please line up in Lane 2 at 2:00 P.M.).

The family requests that, instead of sending flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Hospice of East Texas. It is a non-profit organization that provided Margaret with compassionate end-of-life care. The doctors, nurses and aides there were all incredible and they serve everyone in need of care, regardless of their financial circumstances or insurance status.
