Marietta Hinton Fine, 84, of DeSoto, TX, passed away April 18, 2010. Marietta grew up in Alexandria, LA, became a state tennis champion for Bolton High School and lived in many of the fifty states during her life.
Marietta began her career in Mary Kay Cosmetics as a Consultant in March 1972. Her debut as a Sales Director was in January 1974. Her highest level while in Mary Kay Cosmetics was a Senior Executive Sales Director. Although she won many cars and awards, her favorite achievement was winning the Miss Go Give Award (Ruby) in 1998. She assisted many Mary Kay Consultants and Directors with learning the business, and helping them to achieve their goals. Her favorite quote was," I can take a willing person and make them capable, but I cannot take a capable person and make them willing - that comes from within." Marietta's National Sales Director Emeritus, Anna Ewing, said, "Marietta has not only taught her Consultants to aspire to their greatest heights, but also to live up to the Mary Kay standards and the Golden Rule."
She is survived by her three children: Carolyn Ellington and her husband Chuck; Jean Jones and her husband Dev; William Fine and his wife Sandy; four grandchildren: Suzan Moore; David Royce and his wife Angie; Chelsea Fine, and Tiffany Fine; one great grandson, Jared Moore; a sister, Elaine McGrath, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until service time which will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the Hampton Road Baptist Church, 400 N. Hampton Rd. DeSoto, TX with Dr. Jerry R. Raines, officiating. Interment will follow at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marietta's name to either the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Dallas or The Mary Kay Foundation.
