Martha Manning Jordan passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014. She was born August 6, 1932 in Del Rio, Texas, where her family had lived for generations. She graduated from Del Rio HS in 1949, played sports and was a cheerleader and Del Rio High School Sweetheart her senior year. She initially attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where she was a member of the a cappella choir. Mrs. Jordan graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She met her late husband, W.F. 'Bud' Jordan in San Antonio, while he was stationed at Lackland AFB.  They were married for 55 years. Mrs. Jordan was a much-loved wife, mother and grandmother and was a great listener, supporter and encourager to us all. She taught us to live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, give to others, and leave the rest to God. A strong and independent woman with a heart for others, she was dedicated to service and to the Lord. She volunteered faithfully for Meals On Wheels in the Dallas area for over 20 years.  Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Betty Manning, of Mesquite, TX and Dorothy Jordan of Lubbock, TX; her son, Bill Jordan and wife Denise of Plano, TX; daughters, Becky Wolhart and husband Steve of The Woodlands, TX, and Fran Blevins and husband Brian of Houston, TX; seven magnificent grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, James, Audrey, Allison, Emily and Austin; and her beloved nieces and nephews. She will be buried beside her husband, at Dallas/Ft.
