Martha Sue Ockels

Martha Sue Ockels, 74, of Duncanville. Passed away June 28, 2014 after a brave battle with cancer. Martha had a long and rewarding career with the Internal Revenue Service. For the past eleven years, sh co-owned a restaurant, Betty's Best Around, with her son, Jason. Martha was a loving mother, caring grandmother and beautiful human being. She held her family close to her heart and was a pillar of support and strength. Martha was energetic and always on the go. She enjoyed spending time with friends, going to dinner and a movie or attending dance, opera, or theater performances. She loved shopping, animals, and traveling. Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Jim. She is survived by two sons, Stephen Ockels and his girlfriend Rene Perry of Dallas and Jason Ockels and his wife Betty LaFour of Dallas; on daughter, Frances McGee and husband James McGee of Dallas, and two grandchildren, Elliott Ockels of Dallas and Evelyn McGee of Dallas. Prayer Vigil will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 7 PM and the Funeral will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10 AM. Both services will be held at ST. ELIZABETH OF HUNGARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4015 S. HAMPTON RD., DALLAS, TEXAS 75224 with The Very Reverend T. Michael Dugan, VF officiating. MEMORIALS may be made to the American Cancer Society.
