Martin "Marty" Robert Imwalle

April 14, 1947 — May 28, 2021

Marty passed away peacefully at his home in Sanger, TX on May 28,2021 at the age of 74. Marty was born in Cincinnati, OH. He later lived in New Orleans, LA, Dallas, TX, Midlothian, TX, and then Sanger, TX. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Marty was a high school teacher for 6 years where he taught High School Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry. Marty also had a passion for sports. He was a referee and umpire for countless high school football, basketball, and baseball games. Marty became a professional baseball umpire in the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues. He umpired professional baseball games at the minor league level in three different leagues, with advancement to the AA level in the Texas League. Marty joined the Arlington Police Department in 1980, where he served as a Patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, and a Patrol Sergeant. While working as an active police officer, Marty formed his own company, Imwalle Enterprises Police Instructor, where his career evolved to police training. He was a police instructor at the University of North Texas Police Academy. Marty was also an expert witness and worked as a private investigator. Marty was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret K. Imwalle, father, William M. Imwalle, and brother, William P. Imwalle. Survivors include his sister, Margaret Mary Mayleben and her husband, Hank Mayleben, of Burlington, Kentucky, and 4 nephews and 2 nieces. The family would like to thank Gary & Mistie Brown for their loving care. The family will gather to visit with friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Friday - June 04, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. with the Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 A.M. (same day) with Father Alfred Garcia, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, DeSoto, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations be made to Miles of Hope Animal Rescue at www.milesofhope.net.
