Memorial/Graveside Service: Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:00 pm Mary was born October 2, 1944 in Pampa, Texas to James Andrew Strickland and Effie Jewell Horn. She passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 in Sherman, Texas. Mary was a dedicated servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was blessed by God to be born into a Christian family, and then, to be born again into God’s family. She taught a children’s church for many years so youth, from a very young age, could hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mary studied God’s word faithfully to seek wisdom and understanding and live a life more pleasing to God. She married her lifelong husband, James Robert (Buzzy) Daniel in 1963 and was a proud mother of 2 sons, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. As a family centered individual, she loved spending time with them and had a playful yet competitive spirit, especially when playing dominoes. She was also very proud of hard work and accomplishing all you can as God has commanded us. This was evident in the work she did as a paralegal for the Small Business Administration for many years. But perhaps Mary’s greatest accomplishment was being a constant provider of physical, mental, and spiritual support to her family and friends in need. She had the heart for service and was always there to lend a helping hand as an extension of Jesus. Mary is survived by her son, William James Daniel of Plano, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Christi Daniel of Longview, TX; 7 grandchildren, Brenna (Luis Coronado of McKinney, TX), Micah, Hunter, Tyler, Austin, Zach, and Ashley; 2 great grandchildren, Kaylee and Nico. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert (Buzzy) Daniel and parents, James and Effie Strickland. Mary was laid to rest on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Wheatland Cemetery in Dallas, TX and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Wheatland Cemetery to honor and celebrate her life.
