Mary Lucille "Lou" Morgan, 83, of DeSoto, TX was born October 03, 1928 in Titus County to the late John Melvin & Nettie Lee Cosby Byrd. Her Heavenly Father called her home on July 11, 2012 in Athens, TX. Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker most of her life and greatly enjoyed cooking for and taking care of her family. She enjoyed being around people and spent a great deal of time traveling and camping with her husband. A true virtuous woman, she was consistent in sharing her faith and living out her Christian principles. She attended the First Baptist Church of DeSoto for many years. She was preceded in death by her sister: Dorothy Byrd; brothers: Roy & Melvin Byrd; daughter: Jimmy Lou Young; son in law: Marshall William Lee and her husband: James "Jim" Alfred Morgan, Jr. She is survived by daughter: Susan Morgan Lee; son & daughter in law: Dennis & Patricia Morgan; grandchildren: Rebekah & her husband Cody, Rachel, Charity, Grace, Robyn & her husband Brian and Terra & her husband Matt; great grandchildren: Toby, Scout, Landry, Rylie, Harper, Morgan and Mia; brother & sister in law: Sam & Martha Byrd; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 5 - 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home with Bro. David Franklin and Bro. Joe Perry, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. Those serving as pallbearers will be Toby Clay, Scout Young, Matt Mynhier, Cody Craig, David Crisler and Barry Burleson.
