Mary Van Wunnik-Devrede

Graveside Services and Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, Texas 75225. Born in Maastricht, Holland, she married John van Wunnik in 1940, migrated to the United States in 1965. She settled in Hays, Kansas, then Ohio, Pennsylvania, and came to Dallas in 1965, where she was a long time member of St. Elizabeth Parish of Oak Cliff. She was an active member of the Oak Cliff Women's Club for many years. She is preceded in death by her son, Pete in 1980, and husband, John in 2001. Survivors include her daughter in law, Linda of Katy, TX, son, Lou and wife, Jos van Wunnik of Dallas, and Jack, and his wife, Peggy van Wunnik of DeSoto, 6 grandchildren, Charles, John and Nick van Wunnik, Jill Matthews, Joanna Newcomb, Janet Marcum, and 14 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home. Memorials are encouraged to the Leukemia Society.
