Mattie Jewel Robinson Crockett was born January 04, 1936 in Gainesville, TX to Herbert & Josephine (Branch) Robinson. She was a resident of DeSoto, TX. She is survived by her children: Bobby & his wife Graciela Crockett, Carolyn Jane Leeper and Louis & his wife Stephanie Crockett; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, mawmaw, GG, Triple G, mentor and friend. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Saturday - August 06, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at which time the Funeral Service will begin with Pastor Matt Zamudio, officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, TX. Mattie was a very active volunteer and active member in her community. She joined ABWA (American Business Women's Association) in 1993 and sponsored more than 100 members, earning her the rare and coveted "100 Plus Club" honor. She served in all aspects of leadership and attended national and regional conferences every year without fail. Her "Shower of Cards" program started on the local level and went nationwide with more than a thousand members participating. She was a much beloved member and mentor in ABWA throughout her membership. She was also active in the Texas Tall Tales Book Club, Lecture Luncheon Club, Shakespeare Club, OES #943 Club and the Texas Instruments Retiree Group where she served as Co-Founder. Mattie was an active member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. There she served as an Elder, Diaconate, Worship Leader and Christian Women's Fellowship Leader as well as Vice President of the Church Board. Mattie Crockett was famous at TI (Texas Instruments)! Her career spanned thirty-one years in Semi-Conductor area. She served as a bonder, inspector, Line Assistant and Quality Reliability before forming the Quality Management Group focusing on process improvements and product quality. There she worked with TI Legal, FBI and Government contracts as well as customer specifications and inspections, including off-shore-resulting in 0% defects under her regime. Mattie also formed the Women's Diversity Team working closely with upper level executives and management helping start equality movement at TI. She received many awards and accolades over her 31 years at TI.
