Melvina Carolyn Casteel

Melvina Carolyn Cooper Casteel, Age 81, Loving Wife, Mother and Mamaw went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2024. Melvina was born on August 27, 1942 in Windsor Missouri to Henry C. Cooper and Rilletta Brooks Cooper. Melvina came to know the Lord at an early age and spent her life sharing her faith. Melvina was married to Ed Casteel on June 3, 1967. They were married for 56 years and 8 wonderful months. After 35 years of working for Eaton Cutler-Hammer, Mel retired and moved to Windsor, Missouri with Ed. In 2017 Mel and Ed began traveling in their motorhome full time and volunteering with Alabama Campers on Mission and Volunteer Christian Builders. Together Mel and Ed traveled the lower 48 states helping small churches with their building projects. Mel Loved the Lord and was an active member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. Melvina is survived by her loving husband Ed Casteel, Son Robbie Buckner and wife Debbie of Howe, Oklahoma, Son Eddie Casteel and wife Heather of Daleville, Alabama, and Grandson Justin Ryan Casteel a Senior at Schreiner University, Kerrville, Texas. Brother Charles Wayne Cooper and wife Charlotte of Charlotte, Florida and many nieces and nephews. Mel is preceded in death by her Father Henry Cooper, Mother Rilletta Cooper, Brother Denzil Cooper, and Granddaughter Amber Leigh Buckner She will be greatly missed by family and friends, but knowing she is no longer suffering and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, brings us peace. Nick Harris, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
