Ona Lee Hawthorne

84, of DeSoto, TX passed away on February 12, 2017. Ona Lee Lewis Hawthorne was born July 31, 1932, the daughter of Hubert F. Lewis and Leona Ingram Lewis. She married Thomas J. Hawthorne on April 23, 1955 in Durant, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Janice Anne Hawthorne who died in infancy; half brother: John T. Lewis; half sisters: Inez Nichols, Margaret Stephens and Helen Pickard. Ona Lee is survived by her husband: Thomas Junior Hawthorne, they would have celebrated there 62nd anniversary on April 23 of this year; sons & daughters in law: Terry & Anita Hawthorne of Midlothian, TX, Garry & Penny Hawthorne of Lynden, WA, Tommy & Lisa Hawthorne of Melissa, TX and Bobby & Shelly Hawthorne of Glenn Heights, TX; grandchildren & their spouses: Jeremy Lee & Mindy Hawthorne of Pottsboro, TX, Destry Kane & Jamie Hawthorne of Durant, OK, Dustin Corey & Brandy Hawthorne of Lynden, WA, Candace Megan & Dylan Thompson of Lynden, WA, Christopher Blake Hawthorne of Rowlett, TX, Corbin Bryson Hawthorne & fiance Keri of Phoenix, AZ, Courtney Brooke & Chris Bennett of Forney, TX and Ashlee Amanda & Chez Sherry of Haslet, TX, Sara Hall of Melissa, TX; great grandchildren: Abigail Lee Hawthorne & Erin Elaine Hawthorne of Pottsboro, TX, Brooklyn Taylor Hawthorne of Lynden, WA, Audrey Harlyn Bennett of Forney, TX, Shelby Ryan Hawthorne, Blake Wyatt Hawthorne and Nolan Douglas Hawthorne of Lynden, WA, Caden Riley Hawthorne of Durant, OK, Ryker Ray Sherry and Hudson Gage Sherry of Haslett, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday - February 15, 2017 from 5 - 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday - February 16, 2017 with Pastor B.C. Ross and Rev. Leonard Harris, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations be made in Mrs. Hawthorne's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Dallas Chapter, 4144 N. Central Expressway, Suite 750, Dallas, TX 75204-9627. Those serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Hawthorne will be grandsons Jeremy Lee Hawthorne, Destry Kane Hawthorne, Christopher Blake Hawthorne, Corbin Bryson Hawthorne, Chez Sherry and Chris Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be dear friends Jackie Collard, Billy Collard, Paul Martin, Bill Taylor and Rick Darling.
