Pansy "Pat" Owens

Pat (Pansy Anna) Cruse Owens, 85, of Red Oak, TX, passed away at Red Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation after an extended illness, on October 13, 2015. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC, on August 25, 1930 to the late Ila K. and Oscar O. Cruse. She graduated from Cabarrus County Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1952. During her years as an RN, Pat worked in multiple states as she followed her husband, the late Daniel K. (Ken) Owens, and his job with E. I . duPont de Nemours from Raleigh, NC, to Richmond, VA, Florence, SC and Circleville OH. After Ken’s retirement in Circleville, Pat continued to work as Assistant Director of Nursing at Pickaway Manor Nursing Home, then she became the volunteer coordinator at Berger Hospice. Pat was a founding member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Richmond, VA, and was active with Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Florence, SC and Circleville Presbyterian Church, in OH. Pat moved to Red Oak, TX in 2013, where she joined Ovilla United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Lynn (David) Lewis of Fredericksburg, VA, David (Terri) Owens of Charleston, SC, and Karen (Mark) Stanfill of Red Oak, TX; and grandchildren, Daniel Lewis, Jacob and Sam Owens, and Ellen and Benjamin Stanfill. She is also survived by her two brothers, Guy (Cary) Cruse of White Rock, SC and Max (Ruth) Cruse of Rimertown, NC, and many nieces and nephews.
