Parks "Doc" Ragland

90, of DeSoto, TX passed away on January 14, 2019.  He was a Registered Public Land Surveyor, receiving this accreditation in 1955.  His registration number was one of the first few issued in Dallas County.  He surveyed many of the early subdivisions in DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Waxahachie and surrounding areas. Doc was preceded in death by his wife:  Evelyn Hood Ragland, parents:  John Brown Ragland & Margaret Ann Armstrong Ragland, 4 sisters, 6 brothers and 1 grandson. He is survived by his children:  Cindy & husband Robert Bloomfield, Larry Ragland, Judy & husband Tom McKenzie, Tammy & husband David Tisdale and Becky Rainey; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters in law:  Shirley Banner, Helen Hood, Nancy Ragland and Patsy Ragland; brother in law:  Kent Gilbert and many more nieces, nephews & cousins. Per Doc's request, there will be no viewing, visitation or funeral service.  He will be buried, privately, next to his wife Evelyn, in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, DeSoto, TX.  A memorial service will be announced on a later date. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials or donations be made in Mr. Ragland's name to the charity of choice.
