Penelope "Penny" Pretzer

Penelope, N. “Penny” Pretzer, 80, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas. Mrs. Pretzer was born September 11, 1932 in Florence, Arizona to Leo and Josephine Robles Bloch. Mrs. Pretzer was a school teacher in Italy, Texas after coming to Waxahachie from the Tri-County area of Arizona in 1986. Prior to moving to Texas she taught school in the Florence, Eloy, Coolidge and Tucson, Arizona area. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred in 1998, sister Eilene, and her parents. Survivors include her son Fred Jr. and wife Kendall Pretzer of Flower Mound, Texas; Karl Pretzer of Port Lavaca, Texas; daughter Paula and her husband Mark McGinnis of Tempe, Arizona; granddaughters Danielle, Baillie, and Allison; grandsons Craig and Jake McGinnis, and Ben Pretzer. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the chapel of the West-Hurtt Funeral Home. Pastor Phil Cook, of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas, will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
