Randall D. Richey, age 55, of Red Oak, TX, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX. He was born March 16, 1962, in Fort Wolters, TX to Roger and Freida Richey. He was a 1980 graduate of Daleville High School in Daleville, Alabama. He was in ROTC and was an expert marksman on the shooting team, winning numerous competition awards. After graduation, he moved to DeSoto, TX to live and work. He met his wife Tina in 1986, and they married on July 9, 1989, in Reno, Nevada. Randall always worked in the automotive field for the majority of his life. In 1991, he decided to open his own business and was very successful. Randall had a passion for anything engine related. His amazing reputation was definitely well known. Randall’s knowledge and talent was sought by so many people. Everyone knew he could diagnose and fix any issue. He was always willing and ready to help anyone in need. Randall had such innovative and creative ideas. He was always thinking outside the box, which made him so unique and one of a kind. Everything he did was always done to perfection and done right. Randall truly lived life to the fullest, never giving up on anything he set his mind to do. Family and friends meant everything to Randall, and he touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was so very proud of his sons and all of their accomplishments. He is survived by his loving wife Tina Richey; sons Kyle Richey and Bryan Richey; mother Freida Nickles Richey; brother Gordon Richey, and sisters, Debra Sonsel and Judith Richey; mother in law Donna Modarelli; sisters in law Phyllis Modarelli, Diane Guillen, Lynda Modarelli, Wanda Modarelli, Ann Richey; brothers in law Joe Modarelli, Steve Modarelli, Robin Sonsel; Uncle Phillip Nickles, Aunts Judy Carhart, Debbie Nickles, Linda Bales; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of wonderful neighbors and lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his father Roger Richey; grandparents Fred & Ethel Nickles and Albert & Cleta Belle Setser Richey, and Uncle Kenneth Richey. Family and friends are invited to pay tribute to this wonderful man and share their stories with everyone. Randall’s Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at the West-Hurtt Funeral Home Chapel, 217 S Hampton Rd in DeSoto, TX 75115, on Friday September 8th, at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials or donations be made in Randall’s name to the Ellis county SPCA, 972-935-0756, www.elliscountyspca.org
