Regina Foster

85, of DeSoto, TX. Regina was the second oldest of six children born to Leonza and Essie Mae Pruitt. She met and married James Foster, making their home in Chicago, Illinois. She joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where as a faithful member she was a member of the Metoka and Galeda Sunday School and the choir. Regina always encouraged her sister and brothers to get a good education. She and her husband were instrumental in sending her younger siblings to college. Regina taught school for 27 years at the John M. Smyth Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. She always received the highest ratings, being regarded as an excellent teacher. She and her husband retired to DeSoto, Texas, were she was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Reverend Bertrain Bailey pastor. Our beloved Regina, was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, October 1, 2012. Regina leaves to cherish fond memories, her sister, Bettye J. Wilson, her brother, attorney L.C. Pruitt(Bernice), her sister-in-law Clara Pruitt, many nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and friends, including her special friends Mary Jordan and Betty Adger. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home with Rev. Holsey Hickman, officiating on Friday - October 12, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be prior to the Funeral Service on the same day. A Private Interment will be held on a later date in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
