Rickey “Rick” Dean Williams, 57, of Desoto, TX, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday December 21, 2015. Rick was born on June 2, 1958 to Lew and Margaret Williams in Dallas, Texas. He received his education from Desoto High School. Rick married Sherry Dlabaj and in 1978 they had his only child Bobby Williams. In 1986 Rick met his current wife Debra Davis-Williams and the two of them lived together in Desoto for over 20 years. Rick was a Master Plumber and gained years of experience before beginning his own plumbing company, Preventative Services Company, in 1994. He also studied at Cedar Valley College where he was trained in heating and air conditioning. Rick retired from Preventative Services Company in 2014 and continued his career with the Dallas Independent School District.
Rick was a loving devoted father, son, husband, grandfather, and friend. Anyone who knew Rick knew him to be a selfless caring man who was quick with a kind word. He cared deeply for his parents Lew and Anita Williams and Louis and Margaret Gentry. Rick was the proud father of Bobby Williams and commented often about how much he admired his son. He never forgot the birthdays of grandchildren and attended graduations and school functions.
Rick loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his beloved wife Debra and their babies Spotty, Baby Girl, Margie (named after his mother Margaret) and Sweet Pea. On the weekends he and Debra enjoyed spending time together in their backyard sitting around their goldfish pond or in their spa watching football games. He expressed to his son that he had one more river trip left and couldn’t wait to float the river with his family.
Rick is survived by his wife Debra Davis-Williams of Desoto, TX; parents: Lew and Anita Williams of Winnsboro, TX and Louis and Margaret Gentry of Galveston, TX; siblings: Garry John Williams of San Francisco, CA, Connie Richie of Lindale, TX, and Terri Paduana of Rockford, IL; son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Destiny Williams of Cedar Hill, TX; nephew Jayden of Lindale, TX; and grandchildren Caleb and Lunden.
