Robert Edwin Bowen, 63, of Duncanville, TX, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Clements University Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Robert graduated from DeSoto High School in 1973. He retired from Bank of America after 36 years. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn for 43 years. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their beloved Chihuahuas.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother: Jimmy Bowen;
mother: Mary Loving Bowen Blake;
step father: Jim Blake;
father in law: Charles W. Reed
and brother: Glenn Blake.

He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Reed Bowen;
brother & sister in law: Cecil P. & Beverly Bowen;
sister & brother in law: Carol Ann & Larry Roberson;
nieces & nephews: Zak Bowen, Melissa Bowen, Gavin Bowen, Logan Bowen, Katy Bowen, Vince Bowen, Kevin Bowen, Cassie Bowen, Hannah McMillan, Scott McMillan, Liam McMillan, J.D. Hays, Lindsay Armstrong, Whitney McIntosh, Joseph McIntosh, Charlie McIntosh, Collin Armstrong, Laurie Rankin, Andrew Rankin, Jonathan Rankin, Bree Rankin, Justin Rankin, Hillary Rankin, Jake Rankin, Doug Roberson, Holly Roberson, James Roberson, Hannah Roberson, Matt Roberson & Macy Roberson;

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Wednesday - August 29, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 A.M. (same day) with Rev. Kevin Strempke, officiating.

Interment will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, TX.

Grateful thanks to the Lung Transplant Team including Doctors and staff at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Words cannot express our appreciation for their loving, dedicated and exemplary care given to Robert and support to Carolyn over the past three years - both pre and post transplant.
