Robert E. Rowan

of Ovilla, Texas, formerly of De Soto, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010. He was born June 24, 1929 in Liberal, Kansas. On February 13, 1949 he married Zelda Jo Mitchell. This February they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Bob retired from Unocal Chemical Co in 1994. He continued his career as a self-employed factory representitive for several companies in the coatings and adhesives industry. Bob loved people, sports, and the road less traveled. He and Zelda enjoyed numerous cruises and trips abroad, but he loved his family above all else. His wife and family were the center of his world. Besides his wife, Zelda, he is survived by daughter Marsha Richards and husband, Barrett, son Steve Rowan and wife Teresa, daughter Michele Pruitt and husband, Michael, daughter Mileta Vaughan and husband, Carter. He was the proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren, Morgan richards, Shane Rowan, Jordan Rowan Fannin and husband, Coleman, Brittany Pruitt, Mitchell Pruitt, Jarrod Vaughan and wife Shana, Landon Vaughan and wife, Rebekah, and Andrew Vaughan and one great granddaughter, Cora Blakely Fannin. He is survived by one sister, Betty Hale and husband, Leon, niece, Alisa Henderson, husband, Scott, son, Tyler and daughter, Emily. Visitation will be Monday, May 24 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Services will be held at 3 p. m. Tuesday, May 25 at Hampton Road Baptist Church, 400 N. Hampton Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115. Private interment will be held at Shiloh Cemetery in Ovilla. Pallbearers are Steve Rowan, Shane Rowan, Mitchell Pruitt, Jarrod Vaughan, Landon Vaughan, Andrew Vaughan, Eric Norwood, Coleman Fannin. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Byrd, Gene Sharp, George Hughes, Burkette Riggs, Church Phillips, Saeid Sheibeh. Memorials may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P. O.
