Born on May 11, 1938 in Melrose Park, Illinois. Bob proudly served in the Navy on the USS Waller DD/DDE 466 from 1955 to 1963. He retired from Lockheed Martin after 33 years. He owned the Armadilla Village Club in DeSoto, TX for 20 years. He passed away at his home on December 09, 2011.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at 1 P. M. Friday, December 16, 2011 in the Chapel of WEST/HURTT Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Berthelsen, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations or memorials be made in Bob's name to the SPCA of Texas, Attn: Development, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, TX 75212
Survivors include his wife: Sandy; son: Randy; son & daughter in law: Rusty & his wife Angie; stepchildren: Shellie and Don; Grandchildren: Conner, Ryan, Karalee, Kassie, Hope, Chance, Alex and Wyatt; great grandchildren: Bailey, Joe, JR and CJ and Kylie. brothers: Edward Sparr & his wife Brenda and Kenneth Sparr & his wife Barbara; sister: Barb Adler & her husband Gary. Bob was very proud of all of his accomplishments in life. He was a volunteer fireman in Port Huron, Michigan for several years and loved telling stories of his many rescues. He was an avid hunter and was very proud of his trophies. He and his wife hosted the Navy reunion for his shipmates on the USS Waller this past October. They all had such great memories to share. He still maintained a close relationship with coworkers at Lockheed and many friends at the Armadilla.
