Rose Chlotle Harper

Rose Chlotle Taylor Harper, 93, of DeSoto, TX was born on April 08,1931 in Austin, TX to Roy Vester Taylor & Ocilda Sissom Taylor and passed away December 03, 2024. She had a B.A. degree in Education from Abilene Christian College, Abilene, TX and attended Loyola University, Tulane University. Rose began her teaching career at Clinton P. Russell Elementary School in Dallas, TX. She spent the vast majority of her teaching career at Wilmer Hutchins Elementary School in Hutchins, TX. Her teaching career spanned 33 dedicated years teaching all subjects which included math, English, science and music, therefore making a difference in the lives of many children. God truly blessed the family with a strong Christian wife, mother and grandmother who instilled the virtues she carried to her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Trinity Heights Church of Christ and then later DeSoto Church of Christ. She deeply enjoyed the services and singing spiritual hymns on Sunday mornings. Rose truly was a remarkable woman who will be greatly missed and cherished in all of our hearts. She married Jack Carroll Harper on February 12, 1954 and is also preceded in death by her siblings: Truman Duane Taylor and Roy Alexander Taylor. Rose is survived by her children: Stephen Carroll Harper, Cynthia Rose Harper James and Scott Vester Harper; grandchildren: Robert Lynn James, Jr., Randal Christopher James, Taylor Woodson Harper and William Carroll Harper. There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday - December 10, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in the Grandview Cemetery, 8757 E. FM 916, Grandview (Johnson Co.), TX 76050, with Rev. Larry D. Williams, officiating.
