Roy Dean Wadle

December 30, 1941 — February 19, 2023

Roy Dean Wadle “Praise the Lord, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle.” Psalm 144:1 NLT Beloved husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend, Roy Dean Wadle, went to meet his wonderful Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 19, 2023. He was born on December 30, 1941, to Ernest and Pauline Wadle in Mexia, Texas. Roy married the love of his life, Gennie V Brooks in 1964, and they built their life in De Soto, Texas for 48 years. He was a strong patriot and proud veteran, who lived a life of service. He served in the United States Army from 1964 – 1970 as a member of the Fort Hood 2nd Armored Division, where he received an expert rifle and good conduct medal. After concluding his service for the U.S. Army, he worked for Merico Incorporated for 38 years, putting over 4 million miles on the roads across the United States. Roy became well respected by fellow drivers and coworkers because of his hard work and willingness to take on any task, receiving the Safe Driver Award for many years. He was a faithful member of Crossroads of Life Assembly of God where he served as an usher, member of the senior adult ministry, and a dedicated attendee of the men’s breakfast. Roy had an impeccable servant’s heart and was always willing to serve the church in all capacities. When Roy was not working hard to provide for his family or spending time with his loved ones, you could find him playing games, attending air shows, or wearing his favorite gear to support the Dallas Cowboys or Texas Rangers. He had a witty sense of humor, with endless new jokes, and a compassion for helping family, friends, and those in need. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Pauline Wadle; sisters, Betty Barnes and Joni Chandler; and brother, Bill Wadle. He is survived by his loving wife, Gennie Wadle; son, Brent Wadle and wife Gigi; grandchildren, Jacob Wadle and wife Carly, Caleb Wadle; sister-in-law, Nelda Wadle; brother-in-law, Gene Brooks; nephews, Todd Barnes and wife Sam, Danny Bowen and wife Debby, Greg Wadle and wife Teresa; nieces, Judy Corely, Vicki Reed and husband Mike, Pam Kackley, Erica Wright and husband Jarod, Wendy Matthys Ling and husband Chris, Cindy Piearce, Karen Cotten and husband Billy; and many friends.
