Roy L Walker JR, beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, died peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019. He was born October 12, 1935 to Claudia and Roy Walker in McMinnville Tennessee.
After moving to Texas, he meet his wife Peggy Barron. They were married on June 11 th , 1954 and have two children David and Suzanne.
He was preceded in death by Mother and Father Roy and Claudia Walker, granddaughter Judy Janik and grandson Robert Walker. He is survived by his wife Peggy; sister Judy Crouch; son David Walker; daughter Suzanne Brenner; grandchildren: Jenny Hall; Jody Janik; Donavon Ford; Emily Ford; great grandchildren: Rylee and Braxton Hall; Tytan and Kylie Reschke; Abby Wholf.
He was Scout Master with the Boy Scouts in DeSoto Texas and through scouting made many lifelong friends.
He worked many years in the Motor Freight Industry which included CSX and Horizon lines. He retired from full time work at the young age of 81. He loved the many friends he made at work and thought of them as family.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019 at West/Hurtt Funeral Home, 217 S. Hampton Rd., DeSoto, TX with funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 27th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Ovilla, Texas
