Russell G. "Guy" Powers

Guy was born in Dallas, Texas and served in the U. S. Navy. He worked for Century Blue Print for many years, and was a deacon at Hampton Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son: Bruce Powers in 1995, and his wife: Freida Powers in 2007. He is survived by his daughter and son in law: Judy and Jack Wilson of DeSoto, son and daughter in law: Rusty and Tammie Powers, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, brother in law and sister in law: Charles and Alma Miller. A family visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 a the funeral home. His funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Hampton Road Baptist church 400 N. Hampton Road, DeSoto, TX 75115. Interment will be at 9:30 A. M. on Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. In lieu of traditional remembrances, please make memorials to the American Cancer Society, 8900 Carpenter Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247
