Ruth Carol Hailey

76, a DeSoto, Tx resident for 45 years, born October 03, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois and passed away June 20, 2012 at Buffalo Creek Assisted Living in Waxahachie, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents: Wesley Jennings Deege & Delma Wisehart Deege; husband: Roy M. Hailey and brother: Phillip W. Deege. Ruth was an employee for over 25 years with Yellow Freight Systems where she retired in October 1996. She was an active member of the DeSoto Chapter #1089 Order of the Eastern Star now affiliated with Lancaster Chapter OES #943. Ruth was a woman of incredible strength, grit and determination during her 20 plus years battle with cancer. She never gave in to the disease and her oncologist referred to her as his "miracle" patient. She is survived by sister in law: Margaret M. Deege of Waxahachie, TX; niece & her husband: Laura Jo & Ken Halverson of Waxahachie, TX; nephew & his wife: John Wesley & Suzi Deege of Mansfield, TX and great nephew & great niece: Wesley Jacob & Claire Marie Deege of Mansfield, TX. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday-June 22, 2012 from 5 - 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday-June 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, DeSoto, TX. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials or donations be made in Ruth's name to either the Susan G.
