Ruth Esther Strom

Ruth Skogsbakken was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 23, 1953.  She came to DeSoto in 1979 and was a licensed pharmacist during that time for Safeway, Eckards, The VA, and Adams Pharmacy.  Survivors include her husband: Jim Strom, son: Doug and his wife, Debra Strom of Lewisville,TX; daughters: Susan Strom and her husband, Mark Selep of Sweetwater, TX, and Carolyn and her husband, Tony Lindeman of DeSoto.  5 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, sister: Anne Marie Skogsbakken of New Bern, N. C., and brother: John and his wife: Pat Skogsbakken.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at West/Hurtt Funeral Home.Funeral Services will be held at 11 A. M. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in the WEST/HURTT Funeral Home.Interment will be in the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.Memorials are encouraged to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army in Ruth's name.
