Shirley Louise O'Neal

Shirley O’neal, also known as Mom Shirley, was born on February 1, 1948, in Corsicana, TX to the late Roy and Helen O’neal. She was the eldest of 3 children, a sister Brenda O’neal, and a brother Roy O’neal Jr. She gave life to 4 children, Tina Barrientos, Michelle McElhannon, Carol Thompson, and Shane Thompson. Shirley retired from Walmart after 25 years of employment. She enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, reading her bible, and praying for her family. She never failed to remember a birthday and made sure to always call and share a post on Facebook. Shirley loved to talk on the phone and would spend hours catching up with friends, family, and distant relatives. She was rough around the edges, and did not care what anyone thought of her. She was nowhere near perfect but she was ours. Our mother, our Gigi, our Mom Shirley. Shirley leaves to cherish her loving memory to her siblings, Brenda and Roy; her children, Tina, Shane and Michelle; her son-in-law Richard; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. May we all take a piece out of her book and devote our life to family, never casting judgment on anyone because you do not know their struggles, and even though life is not always perfect, love with everything you have. We love you to the moon and back! The family will receive friends on Friday - April 05, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 A.M. (same day) with Bro. Juan Carlos Monsivais, officiating. Interment will follow in Rice Cemetery, Rice (Navarro County), Texas
