Terry Allan Malone

Terry Malone of Lancaster, TX was born to Era Husk and Henry Malone on October 20, 1947 in Paris, Texas and passed away peacefully at home October 3, 2021. After graduating from Crandall High School in 1966, he joined the U.S. Army in May of 1967 and was recruited to train as Army Special Forces, “the Green Berets.” Terry is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including 2 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. The Bronze Star is awarded to service members who show acts of heroism, bravery and courage in the field. During his tour, he was honored to serve with the brave men of MacVSog – CCS (Military Advisory Command Vietnam Special Operations Group – Command and Control South). The men of MacVSog carried out rescue missions of downed pilots, rescue operations to retrieve prisoners of war, reconnaissance missions and more. Terry’s role as a member of the Army Special Forces and these teams played a significant role in the Vietnam War. After returning home, Terry met and married his loving wife, Brenda Sue Cox. He worked for LTV/Vought Corporation for 30 years before retiring in 2009. While at Vought, he continued to hold a high level security clearance working on government projects. Terry helped build the B2 Stealth Bomber, and had the opportunity to travel to California to perform preparations for the B2 first flight in 1989. He was a proud member of the UAW 848 Union Chapter. Terry’s greatest pleasure in life was his family: his wife Brenda, their daughter Jennifer and all the family pets through the years. The last 11 years he thoroughly enjoyed his role as Pop Pop to Ayden and Anna Rose. Terry is preceded in death by his mother & step-father: Era & G.V. Radar, his father: Henry Malone and his brother: George Felker. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 47 years: Brenda Malone of Lancaster; his devoted daughter: Jennifer Malone Anderson and her husband Lance of Red Oak; granddaughters: Ayden Silas and her husband Aaron of Red Oak and Anna Rose Anderson of Red Oak; sisters: Penny Holliday of Mesquite, Kay Kennedy of Clardy and Susie Goodwin and husband John of Balch Springs; brother: David Rader and his husband Michael Castillo of Jeffersonville, PA; numerous nieces, nephews and Andrea and the girls at Kountry Klippers. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Friday - October 08, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 A.M. (on the same day). Masks are required. Private interment will be held on a later date in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
