80, a community advocate and supporter of DeSoto in many roles including first President of the DeSoto Economic Development Corporation, Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Commission, member of the Dallas County Appraisal District, Dallas Grand Jury, active member of Grace Covenant Church in DeSoto, and former Chairman of the Deacons at Calvary Baptist Church in DeSoto, and most recently as President of the Home Owners Association for Cresthaven Village in Cedar Hill. He was also a proud Veteran serving as a Staff Sgt. in the U. S. Air Force. Tom passed away at his home on Monday, September 19, 2011. He was born April 3, 1931 in Waynesville, GA. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Rachel Lynn Rozier and 1st Lt Jonathan David Rozier, and 9 of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 57 years (married November 1, 1953), Ann Hollingsworth Rozier, sons and their wives, William David and Barbara Phillips Rozier of Katy, TX, Thomas Peek Rozier, Jr. and Lezlie McCoy Rozier of DeSoto, TX, Richard Franklin and Karen Whitaker Rozier of Waxahachie, TX, grandchildren, Daniel Rozier, of Waxahachie, Elizabeth Rozier of Katy, Sarah Rozier of Washington D. C., Rebekah Rozier of DeSoto, Benjamin Rozier of Katy, Joshua Rozier of Katy, Pvt. 1st Class Samuel Rozier of Hawaii, 5 great grandchildren, brother, Franklin Rozier of Blackshear, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A. M. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Hampton Road Baptist Church, 400 N. Hampton Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115.
Interment with Air Force Honors will follow at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
