Thomas "Tom" Junior Hawthorne

91, U S Navy Veteran, serving aboard the USS Winston during the Korean War, of DeSoto, TX passed away May 17, 2022. He was born November 27, 1930 in Garvin, OK to George W. & Lydia M. Williams Hawthorne. Tom married the love of his life, Ona Lee Lewis on April 23, 1955 in Durant, OK. They were married for 62 years and are now reunited. Along with his parents, wife and infant daughter Janice Ann Hawthorne he was preceded in death by his sisters: Fannie Bell Huckabee, Mary Lou Cowart and daughter in law: Anita Jean Hawthorne. Tom is survived by his sons: Terry Hawthorne; Garry Hawthorne & wife Penny; Tommy Hawthorne & wife Lisa; Bobby Hawthorne & wife Shelly; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters: Katherine Reneau, Bertha May Hines & Shirley Jean Brown; daughters in law at one time: Judy Pasley & Wanda Taylor. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Thursday - June 02, 2022 from 10:30 - 11:30 A.M. at which time the Funeral Service will begin with Rev. B.C. Ross, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
