He is survived by his wife: Linda Self; son & daughter in law: Jerry Wayne & Rhea Smith; daughter & son in law: Marian Elizabeth & Richard Dobson; grandchildren: Jessica & James, Joshua, Stephen and Jaclyn & Tyler; great grandchildren: Jayden, Jordyn & Bradley; brother & sister in law: Buddy & Pat Self and sister & brother in law: Lillian & Ottis Sanders. The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 3 - 5:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Bear Creek Baptist Church, 1810 S. Hampton Rd., Glenn Heights, TX. Interment will follow in Beach Grove Cemetery, Anacoco, LA at 5:00 P.M.
