Walter William Litland

Walter William Litland was born in Chicago, Illinois. He died unexpectedly at home in Cedar Hill on Friday. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until Service Time of 11:30 a. m. at Ovilla Church of Christ, 3420 Ovilla Rd., Ovilla, TX, with Michael Elrod, officiating. Interment will follow at Dallas/Fort Worth national Cemetery, Dallas, TX. Mr. Litland worked as a technician for SWB and AT & T, and Lucient for 37 years. He was a member of Ovilla Church of Christ, and served as a Corporal in the United States Army. He lived in Dallas, before coming to DeSoto over 30 years ago, and then to Cedar Hill. Survivors include Mr. Litland's wife of 55 years, Pauline, daughters: Paula and husband, Rick Walker of Almaty, Kazakhstan, Sharon and Larry Valentine of Waxahachie, TX, sons: Richard and his wife, Sherry Litland of Texarkana, AR, and Steve and his wife, Carol Litland of Loganville, GA, grandchildren: Clint Walker, Holly Powell and Claire Walker, Kayla Valentine, and Spencer and Cameron Litland, two great grandchildren: Hannah Walker and Kadence Valentine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations be made in Walter's name to the Ovilla Church of Christ.
