Walter Lee Vinson

Walter Lee Vinson, 74, of DeSoto,  retired jailer for Dallas County, passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2014.  He was born on January 10, 1940 in Dallas, Texas.  He served in the U. S. Marines and the U. S. Army.Visitation with the family will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home,Funeral Services will be held at 11 A. M. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  1019 Big Stone Gap, Duncanville, TX 75137Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in The Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy., Dallas, Texas 75211,  with Marine Honors.Memorials are encouoraged to:  The Woonded Warrior Project.Walter is survived by his wife: Jerry Elaine Vinson of DeSoto, son: Chris Vinson and his wife, Reenie of Ovilla, daughters: Patsy and her husband Steve White of Glenn Heights, Kay and her husband: Stephen Raines of Denton, and Sara Vinson of Killeen, 19 Grandchildren: Jenifer Dreyer, Paul White, Sean White, Scott White, Patric White, Beth Todd, Mark White, Kimi White, MacKenzie White, Josh Neu, Ashley Smith, Natalie Vinson, Olivia Vinson, Ashlyn Raines, Jessie Raines, Aaron Raines, Dylan Sweat, Ryan Sweat and Shana Sweat, and   14 Great Grandchildren.  Sisters in law: Barbara Johnson of Ada, OK, and Trish Aycock of Broken Arrow, OK.
