William R. Sullivan Sr. “Riley”, 81 years young of Lancaster, Texas went home to be with his Lord on July 25, 2026. He was born July 21, 1945, in Dallas, Texas. Riley lived the majority of his life in the DeSoto, Waxahachie, and Lancaster area. He was a 1963 graduate of DeSoto High School with a class of 20, who remained friends for life. Riley was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving in Japan and Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.
He was a member of Ovilla United Methodist Church for 81 years and a member of the Red Oak Masonic Lodge. After 40 plus years, he retired from Southwestern Bell and AT&T. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Riley is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheryl Sullivan. Children; Chris and Sonja Casey of Phoenix, Arizona, Julie and David Mize of Fort Worth, Texas, Holley and Todd Smith of Houston, Texas, Honey and Cory Rodgers of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, and Billy and Sabrina Sullivan of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his sisters Peggy Boehringer, Etta Mayo, and numerous family members and friends.
Riley was preceded in death by his parents, Reese and Allene Sullivan, brother, Jack Dwight Sullivan, and great grandbaby, Jennifer Lambert.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask you to please make a donation to: Shriners Children’s Texas in Galveston Texas, Disabled American Veterans, or Ovilla Methodist Church.
Celebration of Life, Saturday August 15, 2026, at Ovilla United Methodist Church starting at 11:30 A.M. Interment is Private.
