Yvonne Norine Brennan

November 22, 1947 — July 19, 2023

Yvonne Norine Brennan went to be with Jesus peacefully on Wednesday July 19th 2023 at 7:35 PM. She was 75 years old. She was born November 22nd 1947 to Lola Agnes Gardner and William Denver Gardner. Yvonne grew up in Illinois living in Peoria, Pekin and Sunnyland as the family made their way in life. Attending Pekin High school and Beauty college, Yvonne was planning a life as a beautician, but life is what happens when you're planning your future. In 1967, at the request of a friend, Yvonne began writing to a young Marine named Jim Brennan at Camp Lejeune, NC. After Jim received orders to Viet Nam, it was decided that he should come visit during his deployment leave. On July 30 Jim drove to Sunnyland in his father's car and met Yvonne face to face for the first time. Jim fell in love with Yvonne at first site. It was her eyes. Due to leave on August 4th, Jim lost no time in proposing. Yvonne and Jim were married on August 2nd, 1967 with the rule-bending assistance of the county clerk and their family doctor's quick work. It has been almost 56 years since that wonderful experience. Yvonne was a faithful Christian, a loving wife and mother, grandmother and sister. She was successful in almost all that she attempted. She was a hard worker and her willingness to try and succeed in anything she set her mind to was perhaps her most endearing quality. Married to James Edward Brennan, Yvonne is survived by her husband Jim, her daughters Rhonda Jean Holly and Wendy Josephine Piehler, her sons Michael William Brennan and Matthew James Brennan and her grandchildren Emily Elizabeth Ann Piehler, Abbey Kalene Rose Piehler and Andrew Jacob Gerhard Piehler. She is also survived by her sister Rochelle Annette Hollinger. She was preceded in death by her mother Lola Agnes Gardner Pershall, her father William Denver Gardner and her brother Reginald Charles Gardner. Strong memories of Yvonne's presence are in every room and every thing we touch. She is missed terribly, but I know she is with the Lord in his loving arms. Soon, before to long I, her loving husband, will join her whether it be at the rapture or in death, I wait patiently. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday - August 14, 2023 at Windsor Park Baptist Church, 750 W. Pleasant Run Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115 with Pastor Matt Zamudio, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations be made in Mrs. Brennan's name to the Windsor Park Baptist Church.
