Walter P. Kamm, Jr., better known as Wally, was born in Hinton, Oklahoma, on August 27, 1943. He went to his eternal home and entered Heaven’s gate on February 5, 2022. Wally is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Gladys Kamm and sister, Kristy Kamm. Survived by his wife, Sharon Kamm; sons Scott Frazier, wife, Judy, granddaughter, Paige; Brad Frazier, wife, Bridget; brothers, Randy Kamm, wife, Melissa; Arden Kamm, wife, Joyce, and several nieces and nephews. Wally spent his formative years in western Oklahoma, living in the small town of Hydro. He graduated from Hydro High School in 1961. During his high school years he spent his time working at the North Side Drug Store in Hydro after school where, as a colleague stated, “the coke floats and milkshakes flowed.” Following high school, he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in accounting and economics. After he graduated from college, he started working with the Department of Defense in Orlando Florida. In 1970, he made a career change and started work for the US Postal Service as a Postal Inspector. He married Glenna Rose Lawson in 1973 and was married to her for 30 years until she passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer in 2003. Wally was a wonderful Christian man and was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He became a Deacon at Windsor Park Baptist Church in 2002. Wally fell in love and married his wife Sharon on March 3, 2006. They were happily married for almost 16 years. He loved his Oklahoma Sooners and golf. He never missed watching an OU football game or playing a game of golf whenever he had the chance to play. Wally was always available for his younger adopted siblings, Randy and Kristy. He sewed love and guidance into their lives at every opportunity which had a tremendous impact on their upbringing. Later in life, Wally had numerous health issues and contracted COVID in early January. While in the hospital he had a huge impact on the staff with his politeness and positive demeanor. All the nurses admired him and commented on how nice and polite he was even though he was quite ill and struggled to breathe. He fought hard to live but obviously God needed him more than we did. The disease was too much for his immuno-compromised body. He fought the good fight, kept the faith, and is now in the arms of his Savior, Jesus. He was loved by many and will be missed greatly. We know he is with the Lord in Heaven and one day he will be there to receive those he left behind into Glory. He is no longer in pain nor struggling with the toils of this life. He is happy and content to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home from 10 - 11:00 A.M. on Thursday - February 10, 2022 with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 A.M. (same day) with Bro. Jack Ables and Dr. Chris Seidlitz, officiating. Interment will follow in Little Bethel Memorial Park, Duncanville, TX.
